San Jose Dental Clinic
Early into our work in Honduras, our physicians determined the need for quality and sustainable dental care as an integral part of the overall health of their patients. All dental issues were handled with limited supplies, and equipment.
Today, through your support, we have an equipped dental area within the clinic currently in operation. Our dental chairs were donated by a Pittsburgh area dental group, and shipped into Honduras via cargo ship. The larger dental equipment, consisting of suction devices and compressor, was donated and personally delivered to the clinic by Gary Liberati DDS. Through our contacts at both ends, we are able to purchase, or have donated, all necessary material.
This year, we welcomed Dr. Lorenkis Rosario to our staff in San Jose. Dr. Lorenkis, a Honduran dentist practicing in the San Pedro Sula area, is now seeing patients at our clinic 2-3 days per week, twice a month. We are able to provide her with housing when on call in San Jose, as travel is often impractical. She provides caring professional services, mostly consisting of oral surgery (extractions), fillings, exams and cleanings.
